🙌 The role

We are looking for an engineering manager to join us on the next stage of our development. You will work in tandem with our PM's and designers to support our cross-functional teams to deliver high quality software. Your mission will be to support, coach and mentor teams throughout the development life cycle. You will be primarily hands off, with a focus on people, process and best practice. 

We are growing our platform 10x in the next year and to begin with, you will focus your time on helping one team optimise their delivery processes. Alongside that, you will be involved in scaling and shaping the Engineering organisation to meet the growth of the business. We are constantly looking at improving our processes, architectures and technologies, as we continue to grow and face new challenges. You will be heavily involved in shaping the product and technical direction of the platform.

Our core stack is Typescript based and is running on AWS, mostly in Lambda functions. We use Terraform and the Serverless Framework to provision mostly managed services into our event-driven architecture.

What you'll be getting up to:
  • Building out 1 - 2 cross-functional teams
  • Owning strategic initiatives for your team and potentially the Engineering organisation
  • Building a high trust environment where teams feel they can perform and deliver value
  • Help teams to optimise their delivery and holding them accountable for their work from design to support in production
  • Collaborate with other EMs and Tech Leads to determine the strategic direction and create technical roadmaps that support both from a business and technology standpoint.
  • Provide coaching and support to engineers, PMs and designers.
  • Fostering a continuous learning culture
  • Helping individuals set development goals and actively working with them to achieve those goals
